2021 Syllabus | 60 Credits | SLQL 10

Target Group

All education service personnel to develop their needed professional development.

Objectives

On completion, the candidate will be able to;

1. understand the concepts and theories of educational leadership and management
2. examine the aspects of education leadership as well as the education management practices with in depth understanding
3. demonstrate 21st century learning skills, the 4th Industrial revolution and management competencies
4. engage in systematic, analytical enquiry into the theory and practice of leadership and management in education
5. use the knowledge and skills gained to improve their own practice to perform leadership and management roles effectively
6. collaborate all the stakeholders for the quality development of education
7. demonstrate the skills and attributes required to meet the standards for SLQF Level 10

Eligibility

A student seeking admission to the programme of study leading to the award of the Master of Education in Educational Management will be required to confirm the following;

• Bachelor of Education Degree
  Or
• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with Postgraduate Diploma in Education or any other Postgraduate qualification in the field of education acceptable to the Academic Affairs Board and the Council of the National Institute of Education
  And
• Currently serve as a,
  • Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLEAS) or,
  • Sri Lanka Principal Service (SLPS) or,
  • Sri Lanka Teacher Educator Service (SLTES) or,
  • In-service Advisers in Sri Lanka Teacher Advisor service (SLTAS) or,
  • Sri Lanka Teacher Service I (SLTS)
  • Head of the Institution

The programme comprises two semesters which include 13 courses.

Course duration is 24 months and maximum of 60 months.

Fees

Application Fee: Rupees 250.00

Entrance Exam/Test Fee: Rupees 1,250.00

Registration Fee: Rupees 5,000.00

Programme Fee: Rupees 150,000.00 in 2 Instalment(s).

Examination Fees: In addition candidates have to pay examination fees when appling examinations.
